Many people have their own home based business, and many of these are Network Marketing (MLM) opportunities. Most people start out with off-line methods of business building. Of course, there are heaps of MLM programs designed for the on-line community. So how do we bridge this gap, and apply internet marketing strategies to traditional MLM?
For me, the first thing I started to do was purchase “opportunity” leads. I found this to be a very costly process (these were realtime leads, not auto-responder leads). I found that most of the prospects were suspects, and had just filled in the form to see what it was. They were curious, not serious. I spent a lot of money, and a lot of time speaking to people who were not well qualified. So if you are purchasing leads, do a thorough investigation of the lead company, and check with people who have used the leads themselves.
After this experience I decided to really check out the internet and see what else there was available. My ideal solution was to generate high quality leads at low cost for myself and my team. I was also checking to see if anyone else had developed systems that could be applied to any network marketing company.
I decided that I had better get “educated” so I spent a lot of time learning all I could about internet marketing. I had previously run a small internet business so have some experience of advertising on Google using pay-per-click.
After lots of research, watching videos and calling in to teleseminars, I finally got the message! Everybody needs their own list of subscribers to be a successful internet marketer. And once you have a list and have built trust, then you can market whatever you want. It sounded simple – and it is. The facts are that it is possible – it takes some work and some time, which is fair enough.
The way to link this all up with your MLM business is to build a list of people who are looking for a business. This includes those people who maybe have a business and are wanting some assistance, and thers who are wanting a new business opportunity. These people are your target audience.
